Job Opportunity at the Movenpick Hotel Ramallah 

We are inviting motivated and highly qualified candidates to apply for the position of Executive Chef

General requirements:

The candidate is expected to be a top notch person with an outgoing personality, high energy, a crisp eye for detail and be service obsessed. The candidate must also have;
·         The ability to actively interact with associates, Subordinate, and management, owning company representatives and suppliers.
·         Excellent time management, organizational, communication and motivation skills.
·         Ability to work in a pressured, busy environment to achieve excellence.
·         The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client as customer services is essential to success in this role.
·         The chosen candidate must speak and write English fluently.

 Responsibilities:

·         The executive chef will train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities.
·         Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food.
·         Select and develop recipes.
·         Standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality.
·         Establish presentation technique and quality standards
·         Plan and price menus
·         Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance, and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen.
·         The executive chef may cook selected items or for selected occasions.
·         The executive chef may oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques.
·         The executive chef directly supervises kitchen personnel with responsibility for hiring, discipline, performance reviews and advice on promotion or pay increases.
·         Typically reports to F&B Director.

 Education and Experience:  

The ideal candidate will possess a degree related to the position and a minimum five years experience in hospitality industry and culinary management experience.  Previous experience with control food and labor cost, demonstration cooking, menu development, and pricing and development of culinary team preferred. Previous experience as an Executive Chef for an international chain Five Stars Hotel is desirable.
